How to Price Your Lash Lift Services as a Beginner
Share
One of the most common questions I get from new lash lift artists is: "How much should I charge?" It's a great question — and the answer might surprise you. Pricing isn't just about covering your costs. It's a strategy that shapes how fast you build your clientele and how sustainable your business becomes.
Why Starting Lower Isn't Giving Up — It's Being Smart
When you're just starting out, your most valuable asset isn't your price tag — it's your practice time. The more clients you see, the faster your skills improve, and the more confident you become in delivering consistent results.
If you start at $70–$80 as a beginner, you'll likely struggle to book enough clients. And without enough clients, you won't get enough practice. Without enough practice, your skills plateau. It becomes a frustrating cycle.
Starting at a lower price point — around $40–$50 — removes the hesitation for new clients. They're more willing to try a new service at a lower price, which means you fill your books faster and get the reps you need to level up quickly.
A Real Example: How Pricing Strategy Builds a Full Client Base
When I first started, I charged $40 for a lash lift. Over time, as my skills improved and my client list grew, I gradually increased my prices by $10 increments. Today, I charge $120 — and I'm fully booked every month.
That progression didn't happen by luck. It happened because I prioritized getting clients and building skill over maximizing short-term income. The clients I built relationships with early on stayed with me and referred others. That loyalty is worth far more than a few extra dollars per session at the start.
The Beginner Pricing Framework
Start at $40–$50
This is the sweet spot for beginners. It's low enough to attract new clients easily, but still signals that your service has value. At this price, you can comfortably see multiple clients per week and build a real portfolio.
Increase Gradually as You Grow
Once you have a steady flow of clients and your technique is consistently strong, increase your price by $10 at a time. Let your existing clients know in advance — most will stick with you because they trust your results.
Don't Chase High Prices Too Soon
Charging premium prices before you have the skills or reviews to back it up can hurt your reputation before it's even built. Think long-term. The goal in year one is practice, confidence, and client relationships — not maximum profit.
When Can You Raise Your Prices?
Here are signs you're ready to increase your rates:
- You're consistently fully booked each week
- Clients are rebooking without prompting
- You're receiving referrals regularly
- Your technique feels natural and confident
- Your results are consistent across different eye shapes and lash types
Skill First, Money Later
This is the mindset that separates lash artists who burn out quickly from those who build thriving, long-term businesses. If you stay consistent, the money will always come. There are no shortcuts — but there is a reliable path, and it starts with investing in your craft.
